And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto Him: and He was nigh unto the sea. And, behold, there came unto Jesus one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw Jesus, he fell at His feet, And besought Jesus much, saying, My little daughter lies at the point of death: I pray you, come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him, and many people followed Him and thronged Him.
And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched His garment, For she said If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway, the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that virtue had gone out of Him, turned Him about in the press and said, Who touched My clothes? And His disciples said unto Him, You see the multitude thronging you, and you say, Who touched Me? And Jesus looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before Him and told Him all the truth. And Jesus said unto her, Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace and be whole of your plague. Mark 5 v 21-34.
Everything that we receive from the Father’s hand has got to be received by the operation of faith, the working of faith. The Lord gave me the following words concerning the aspect of faith;“ Faith believes what God’s Word says, not what circumstances may shout.”
“ Faith in God is taking Him at His Word and being undaunted by anything contrary by sight, hearing or experience,”
With Faith, There Has To Be The Spirit Of Expectation.
When approaching the Father for any of His many blessings and benefits, one must believe that He is, and that He is able, to do that which His word declares. With faith, one is taking hold of those things which Jesus Christ has already wrought in the earth, and it’s no longer a case of what He will do, but thank God it’s what He has already done.
“And it came to pass that when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received Him; For they were all waiting for Him”. ( Luke 8 v 40 ). It is easy to read over the verses of scripture and miss out on the revelation of the Keys that open up God’s word. There was a spirit of expectation. Notice the wording, and they were all waiting for Jesus.
The Woman’s Long-Standing Condition.
“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any” ( Luke 8 v 40)
This woman had been suffering from this ailment for 12 years; when you break it down to days, she had this ailment for 4383 days in duration. Can you imagine the extremity of her situation in having to face each waking day with this ailment?
This woman had sought the assistance of not one, but of many physicians, in attempting to find a cure, in searching for the answer to her problem; during the course of her treatment at the hands of her physicians, she suffered many things. There are no doubt many people who can identify with this woman, that during the course of their treatment by the medical profession, the treatment can be worse than the sickness.
And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone. ( Luke 8 v 43. )
The Word of God gives us a graphic picture of this woman’s predicament in the searching out of the healing of her ailment. She had exhausted all of her finances. Every course of treatment, everything that the physicians practised on this woman failed; it came to the point when she exhausted all of the medical expertise, and she was pronounced as being incurable.
The Key To Her Healing; Hearing About Jesus.
This is the most important revelation truth from the entire portion of scripture, the need to hear about JESUS. When she had heard of Jesus, she came in the press behind and touched his garment.
What had she heard?
Thank God she heard right. If she was alive today, would she hear the vital life-giving truth of the Gospel of Healing? Would she be hearing about this JESUS who went about doing good, healing all and sundry of their sicknesses and diseases? Would she hear about this JESUS who brings deliverance to all who are oppressed of the devil? Would she hear that everything JESUS SAID AND PERFORMED WAS THE WILL OF THE FATHER??
The Things She Never Heard.
She did not hear -Healing has passed away! Miracles are not for today! These lies from the pit of hell, and worse still, these faith destroying words that come from any pulpit have deprived many of precious believers in Jesus Christ of their redemptive rights and privileges that have been wrought for the children of men through the redemptive and finished work of Jesus Christ.
She did not hear – It may not be God’s Will to heal you! Every child of the Father has the right to know that HEALING FOR THE SICK is the WILL OF GOD, again I repeat; “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”.
She did not hear – God gave me this sickness to teach me! This is a damnable insult on the FATHER’s character, who teaches and chastises His people through the WORD and NEVER THROUGH LAYING SICKNESS ON PEOPLE.
You never see once in the GOSPEL JESUS LAYING HIS HANDS ON PEOPLE AND GIVING THEM SICKNESS, NO HE LAID HIS HANDS ON PEOPLE TO MINISTER TO THEM HEALING. JESUS WENT ABOUT TAKING SICKNESS AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
She did not hear – My suffering gives God glory! Search the GOSPEL, and throughout the ministry of JESUS CHRIST, it was always when the people received the manifestation of healing that the people GLORIFIED THE FATHER.
And Jesus entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into His own city. And, behold, they brought to Him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; your sins be forgiven you. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes. And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said, Wherefore think you evil in your hearts? For whether is easier to say, your sins be forgiven you, or to say, Arise, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, then Jesus said to the sick of the palsy, Arise, take up the bed, and go unto your house. And he arose and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. ( Matthew 9 v 8 )
Insomuch that the multitude wondered when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. ( Matthew 15 v 31 )
And, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. And Jesus laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God ( Luke 13 v 13 )
The Operation Of Faith
“For she said If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” This was the woman’s faith in action, the Word of God declares in the Psalms; I believe, and therefore I speak, faith in the heart must be spoken out of the heart of the person, “Faith believes what God’s Word says, not what circumstances may shout” “ Faith in God is taking Him at His Word and being undaunted by anything contrary by sight, hearing or experience,”
When you hear right, you will believe right. What you hear will determine what you believe. What you believe will determine your action.
Faith is the human side; it’s the action of receiving from Jesus Christ. Faith has a source – The Word of God. FAITH IS IMPARTED THROUGH THE HEARING OF THE WORD OF GOD.
Faith has a voice. She said if I can just touch Him. Faith has action. She pushed through the crowd.
And straightway, the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press and said, Who touched my clothes?
Faith in action draws virtue from the One who has the power to heal. And his disciples said unto him, you see the multitude thronging you, and you say Who touched me? And Jesus looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him and told him all the truth. And Jesus said unto her, Daughter, your faith hath made you whole; go in peace and be whole of your plague.
Here is another thought, the woman when she reached out and touched Jesus Christ she received her healing, her issue of blood as described by Luke instantly dried up, but there is more, much more to this encounter that this woman had with Jesus, listen to what JESUS said;” Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace and be whole of your plague. She received more than her healing; she received wholeness, completeness, in her life.
Jesus did not say; IT WAS MY FAITH THAT HAS HEALED HER. “If that were the case, they, the whole multitude that thronged Him, would have all been healed,” Jesus said; THIS WOMAN’S FAITH IN ME HAS MADE HER WHOLE.
